This multi-layered and aromatic experience, coupled with the robust 'returning sweetness' known as 'Guan Yin Yun,' epitomizes the 'Guan Yin Essence' cherished by tea enthusiasts. A well-prepared traditional Tie Guan Yin is sure to endure many infusions, living up to the adage, 'Seven infusions with lingering fragrance.'
Rediscovering Tradition
The Tie Guan Yin I've chosen stems from our collaboration with Mr. Wang Wenqing, a nationally acclaimed 'Generational Tie Guan Yin Tea Craftsman.' He insists on using authentic Red Heart Wuyi Peach tea trees, cultivated at altitudes above 800 meters. By adhering to traditional methods involving meticulous fermentation, withering, and charcoal roasting, the tea's fragrance is preserved, and its character remains delicate. Thus, the classic 'Guan Yin Essence' is rejuvenated.
This meticulous and exclusive approach is necessitated by the fact that Red Heart Wuyi Peach tea trees only thrive in Anxi, with stringent selection criteria. Authentic tea varieties ensure rich intrinsic qualities, accentuating the perfect 'variety fragrance.'
Each step of oolong tea production, from shaking and fermenting to withering and roasting, is executed with precision, embodying the spirit of craftsmanship. The resulting 'Craftsmanship Fragrance' must also be present. As expected, Tie Guan Yin produced using such methods is limited. The Tie Guan Yin I've chosen epitomizes this – a tea truly worth cherishing.
The dry leaves, resembling dragonfly heads and frog legs, feature green leaves bordered by red, while the tea itself exudes a bright orange-yellow hue. Its taste is smooth and mellow, with a pure orchid fragrance complemented by pronounced roasted aromas and sweet, ripe fruit notes. With a high endurance for multiple infusions, this tea offers a delightful experience of lingering sweetness.
